I’ve been in the car business for 30 years, and the Twike concept really interested me. So I went to visit them. This 5th gen. Is really cool. I only saw the raw chasdis, but i did go with the owner Mr. Moesheid, for a ride in the 2 gen. These guys are doing something different and cool.
The Aptera and the Carver! If I could, I would buy one of each, now. There should DEFINITELY be more of these on the roads, especially in cities, urban areas, island communities.....etc
For me, it'd be the Carver S+ all day long...! Fantastic piece of engineering and, at 50mph top speed, considerably more traffic-friendly than other current 'quadracycle'-based commuter EVs.
I liked the Carver as well but the problem with all of these is the price. The Dacia Spring isn't far off the price of these so they don't seem good value. I'm sure the Carver is Chinese so hopefully as Carver have now gone they may bring them in at a much lower price??

Sorry to hear that Arcimoto is failing but I'm not surprised. I live in Oregon, where it's made, and it rains a lot here. An open vehicle doesn't work here. We need something that is enclosed and well heated. They thought a tiny rooflet was enough protection from the elements. Shear stupidity.
He was. The C5 was very well researched, and completely undeserving of the negative press. As a short haul commuter machine it was ideal, and let down by the fairly mediocre performance of the Hoover - supplied electric drive system. I know people who have still got their pair of C5's, now with LiPo batteries and decent brushless motors, and they work exceptionally well.
Very true. Why pay many thousands of dollars for a vehicle with a low speed and a short range? Bicycles do that! Let's hope that some reasonable options emerge. Sadly, my favourites always go bankrupt.
@@automotiveterritory 5,000 USD at most. Edit: except for the Aptera maybe, it has a monster autonomy and it's more like an actual car (not just a three-wheeler), but still its 30,000 USD pricetag is too steep.
You said limitless fun you’re misleading. They definitely have limits on how far they’ll go like all electric vehicles and then of course there’s that it can explode into flames. If you leave it plugged in too long to charge this is like back in the day General Motors tried to sell us on the Vega or Ford Pinto look how cheap this thing will run will be trapped in the burning wreckage. If you get in an accident and your Vegas you’ll be lucky if it goes 20,000 miles before it blows up do videos to tell the truth these vehicles are very cool looking , but until they come up with a good hybrid system, or you use a little bitty Honda generator to continuously power it I get tired of these companies, selling us their experiments knowing they were gonna have to buy another one in a couple of years. @@gmv0553 It's the 19th of August here in Aus, keep in touch for a few months and we'll watch events transpire together. So far, it looks like that slow-moving PI.2 is another broken deadline. The US gov is allowing a new 3 wheeler? They banned 3 wheeled ATVs because there was so many tip over accidents and so many people were getting injured. WHY they still allow 3 wheel mobility scooters is beyond me. I guess they think slow means safe. Ask anyone you see on a 3 wheel mobility scooter to show you their bruises. !
You demonstrate that you are clueless about these designs and their use. Fat tired off road ATVs were being driven by under aged kids who break their necks. That has nothing to do with road use for daily driving. You don't understand what a mobility scooter is either, they are extremely popular in the US with aged people and in the EU you can buy fully enclosed tiny mobility scooters with a very low top speed. I live among these seniors here in Florida and they can barely get up to 5 mph on their scooters, crashes are virtually unheard of. They are so small and low powered that they are allowed in all stores in the US. Slow does literally mean safe. For 7 years I only had the solar/pedal powered Organic Transit ELF for transportation. It is shown in my avatar image. Then I bought the Arcimoto and boy is it very safe and very fun! 3 years of daily use and I still feel very safe with the double harness and hardened crash cage. No owner has ever been injured in one and these top out at 85 mph.
@@automotiveterritory They are comparable when the BYD Seagull is excluded from the list of comparison, such as the 100% Chinese EV tariff. Otherwise, no one would even look at them.
New products and new businesses (e.g. restaurants) are difficult to establish. Add to that struggle some of the worlds most powerful and entrenched competitors who use misinformation to increase the difficulties. The EV industry has come a long ways since the early days of this century. It's unreasonable to have expected them to have rolled off the factory floor perfect. Even your beloved ICE vehicle sucked in the beginning. The powers that be are latching on to the one flaw that it's always had. It burns stuff that isn't good for things that depend on clean air for living. As an experiment, close your garage doors, windows, etc. and turn on your ICE vehicle for an hour. Now go to another garage and do the same with an EV. Oh, wait, you can't because you're either severely brain damaged or dead. The Earth is like the garage. Only the rest of us are in there too.

I owned one of the first Twike 3 for more than 10 years, until I moved to Thailand.

Your information on the Aptera is way out of date. They are now using a single Tesla motor in the front, and pricing was set a long time ago.
Should have models with removable roof
The first Aptera are only gonna have one motor.

Avvenire Spiritus Leggera needs to sell a front end and frame and let the buyer install whatever he or she wants.
0.42 drag coefficient ( Morgan XP-1) is terrible !!
Next would launch Electric : Vehicle or EU .Such short sbbriviation stand launch Electric !
Maybe
rate by repairability
It's tough to say since it varies greatly between makes and models.
