Never heard of this french Tyrant Fest but Krisiun is mercilessly sharp and uncompromised since middle 90s
I remember seeing them live for the first time in 2004, people were in awe. They didnt even headbang. Still to this day they are as you say sharp and precise like a new and sharp dagger !

When people say “I love heavy metal!” and i put on Krisiun, they realize that they weren’t too interested in metal after all.
Honestly though the first few albums especially are hard for most people to get into especially if they’re used to listening to modern drum recordings that are perfectly mixed and are either all or mostly sampled in. Krisiun has a few albums that have almost obnoxious sounding drums. I still love those albums but shit even the beats can be super repetitive on the first few albums too.
Yep, they were a victim of late 90s/early 00s overcompression. I much prefer their recent output, similar to a band like Marduk who sound better now than ever @@reecewagner8604
